Centurion Licensing System
The Securities Commission of Papua New Guinea (SCPNGSCPNG Securities Commission of Papua New Guinea) has successfully launched the Centurion Licensing System, a new digital platform designed to modernize and streamline the licensing process for entities and individuals operating within Papua New Guinea’s capital markets.
Previously, licensing applications and approvals were largely processed through manual and paper-based procedures. While effective in earlier stages of the market’s development, the manual system often required significant processing time, physical submission of documents, and in-person follow-ups. As Papua New Guinea’s financial markets continue to grow, the need for a more efficient, secure, and transparent system became increasingly important.
The Centurion Licensing System represents a significant step forward in the Commission’s digital transformation. Through this platform, applicants can now submit licensing applications, upload required documentation, and track the progress of their applications online. The system also enables more efficient review and processing by the Commission, improving turnaround times while strengthening regulatory oversight.
By transitioning from a manual process to a fully digital licensing system, SCPNG aims to improve service delivery, enhance transparency, and support the continued development of Papua New Guinea’s financial sector. The platform also strengthens record management, reduces administrative delays, and provides a more accessible and user-friendly experience for market participants.
The Centurion Licensing System is now fully operational and forms a key part of the Commission’s commitment to modern regulatory practices and the promotion of fair, orderly, and efficient capital markets in Papua New Guinea.
